The Noise Management Plan, produced on behalf of our client, M-Sport, went before Allerdale Borough Council Planning Committee yesterday and was approved with 10 votes in favour and 2 against.

We have worked tirelessly over a long period of time, in collaboration with Allerdale Borough Council, and guided by acoustic consultants, to ensure that this exciting development, which whilst bringing much needed jobs to the area, will not be to the detriment to M-Sports neighbours. The levels already set, and the additional controls now approved, have been subject to extensive research, with independent validation. These together with a robust system in place have resulted in a Noise Management Plan which has evolved in taking on board the authorities and residents’ concerns; and providing explicit clarification to ensure that M-Sports operations are controlled to the satisfaction of the council and protection of local amenity.

We could not allow M-Sport to make a £19M investment in a facility, unless we were absolutely sure that they would be able to use the facility without fear of having operations halted due to a statutory nuisance.

M-Sport anticipate that the development will create more than 100 skilled jobs; with demand for the firm’s services increasing as it expands into mainstream automotive technology.
